No patches may be purchased unless the rank achievement has been recorded online.

Merit Badge Counselor List

The Downeast District Advancement Committee is currently working on reorganizing and updating the Downeast District merit badge counselor list.  In order to do this most efficiently, we need the help and cooperation of every individual scouting unit.

Earn the 100 Years of Scouting - a Year of Celebration - patch

This is a special patch that can be earned September 1, 2009 through December 31, 2010.

 

 

The requirements are specific to Scouts or Adults. Requirements include such things as; have a friend join scouting, start a unit, or do a good turn for seven consecutive days.

 

All Cub Scout units must fill out advancement online/paper forms

Starting June 1 of this year all Cub Scout units must fill out an
advancement form or use online advancement for all RANK advancement (Bobcat,
Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Webelos, and Arrow of Light) to purchase the badges from

Star to Eagle Conference

owneast District will host a Star to Eagle Conference on May 9, 2009 at the
Wiscasset Scout Hall, Lincoln Street, Wiscasset. Registration and a meet &
greet is at 9:30 a.m., followed by presentations, displays and Q&A sessions
for Star and Life Scouts and their parents. We will cover Project
descriptions, Paperwork, Organizing and Planning Your Time, Leadership and
the Service Project, Planning a Court of Honor.

2009 Operation Fly 1st Class April 20th - 23rd

  • Operation Fly 1st Class will be held at Camp Hinds in Raymond.
  • The cost is $160 per Scout and includes all meals, program equipment, and accommodations in the Training Center, experienced adult & older boy leadership! The program will be set up like a real troop with patrols and adult leadership.
  • The staff will fill the roles of Scoutmaster andAssistant Scoutmasters, Senior Patrol Leader and patrol leaders to insure a great quality program.
