  • Renew your unit's charter online.
  • Select members from your existing charter roster.

Before beginning Internet Rechartering

  • You must be connected to a printer to print the final report for signature.

 

To recharter your unit, you must have

  • Original Applications for new Scouts and Leaders, NO xerox copies will be accepted.
  • At least 2 members on the Unit Committee.
  • At least 5 scouts.

Important Facts

  • The file that you are suppose to upload from your Packmaster/Troopmaster software is the file that your software wants you to load onto a floppy disk in the A: drive when you go through the recharter process in Troopmaster. The file must be named CHTP0XXX.csv where the P is the program type of your unit (ie. S for scouts) and XXX is the unit number.
  • When you load the file it will compare your database with what Scoutnet's database has. Any miscompares will be noted on the screen and you can check the boxes to match them up. Problem comes in if the person isn't listed in the council's database. You have to check them off as a new application AND have a new application for them when you bring in your paperwork. Essentially I was told that if they aren't in the on-line database then they don't exist in council. Some scouts joined Crews as their primary unit and made the old troop as a multiple registration. They didn't show up on the council's troop charter because they were transferred to the Crew and so have to send in another application to still belong to the troop.
  • Bottom line is if Scoutnet doesn't have a person in its database then you need to have a new application for them with the recharter paperwork.
  • Do not hit the Submit button unless everything is correct and your form is complete. This will lock you out of the program and you cannot get back in.
  • Do not put 000-00-0000 for a social security number for adults, it will not accept it. Do not put a SS number (ie leave blank) for Tiger Cub parents. They are the only adults that must not have a SS number, all other adults must have a valid SS number.
  • Something else to have for recharter is a list of what training all leaders have had and the approximate dates of training. We are trying to fix up councils training inventory for the district so that will help.
