1. MERIT BADGE COLLEGE.

Our new Fall Merit Badge College begins Thursday, November 5 at the LDS Church in Damariscotta.  Session I begins at 6:30 pm; session II begins at 7:30 pm.

Scouts who have not yet registered for merit badge college classes should do so before that first night.

Remember that brand new, never-before-seen adult sessions will be offered at this Merit Badge College.  The 11/5 Adult session is Stocking Stuffers for Scouts with Agnes Parker (who is also the Dean of MBC).  This first adult session will begin shortly after 6:30 pm (once I know everything is in order with all MBC scout classes).  Bring your own stocking stuffer ideas to share as well!

2. 11-07-2009 TRAINING.

The Pine Tree Council Training Team will be conducting a series of training courses in order to get your unit's leadership informed and energized about the jobs they have volunteered to do.

Some for the courses will take the entire day to attend and others will only be a few hours.  Sign up for as many or as few as you want.

Registration times will vary with the courses you are attending.

There is a small fee of $7/participant for the printed materials and training cards.  This is the fee FOR THE DAY - so if you attend more than one course, there are no additional charges.  For the units who can afford it, we suggest that the fee for the leaders to get trained should be covered by the Troop, Pack, or Crew.

4. DOWNEAST DISTRICT MERIT BADGE COUNSELOR LIST.

Info for the new DED mbc list now under construction is needed from ALL units.  Disappointingly, I've only heard from half a dozen units so far (after two deadlines have come and gone).  Surely we have more merit badge counselors than that !?!?!

Remember that anyone not included on this new, updated mbc list will NOT be a registered merit badge counselor in the Downeast District.  Don't jeopardize your Scouts' chances of completing merit badges with a qualified, registered mbc.  Please urge your unit to send the following info about YOUR merit badge counselors :

Name, snail mail addy, email addy, phone # and list of merit badges they counsel.
