The Downeast District is currently striving to engage more youth in the Scouting Program.  To beat last year’s number we need 68 new Scouts.  Are you willing to do your part to make Downeast successful?

We currently have 26 Cub Scout Packs, 22 Boy Scout Troops, 4 Venture Crews and 1 Sea Scout Ship.  If every Boy Scout Troop commits to recruiting just 1 new Boy Scout, every Cub Scout Pack commits to recruiting 2 new Cub Scouts, and every Crew commits to recruiting 3 new Venturers, Downeast will be successful.  Pack 648 in Brunswick recruited over 40 Cub Scouts in September, so we know there are youth in our communities who are interested in what Scouting offers!

Here are some things you can do:  We still have posters and lawn signs in the service center. Invite the youth in the school to your November Pack meeting.  Have all your Scouting families invite 1 new family to your next meeting or outing.  Incentify your Scouts to bring a friend.  Boy Scout troops: any Scout that is not yet 1st class needs to bring a friend to a meeting for advancement, have they? Now is the time.
