1. POPCORN NEWS 2009.  From Matthew Randall.

“Hello all,

As the season draws to a close of a successful 2009 Popcorn Sale, I
would like to share with you a few things.

First, thanks to all your efforts over $571,000 dollars was raised in
support of Scouting this fall - over HALF A MILLION DOLLARS!!  Thanks to all your efforts Scouts who need camper ships will get them, Scouts who needed monies in their unit accounts to pay for program or supplies will get both, supplies can be acquired and trainings can be conducted for our summer camp personnel in preparation for 2010.  It is a wonderful thing to have one event support so many of our programs.

Second, now that you have raised the money - USE IT!  Don't let it
collect dust in an account someplace.  Active Scouts stay in the program longer - so be active for 2010.  Hit the USS Massachusetts in Fall River, take the kids to a Ski Day, see a Sea Dogs game, have the pack buy awards, hold a pizza night, go snow tubing, hike Katahdin, etc.

Third, thank you all for your patience with me this season.  I
appreciated it.

Fourth, here are the District Top Sellers for 2009, who have each earned 100 Scout Bucks to use in 2009 for camp or OA activities (or to apply to NYLY, Jamboree, Sea Base, or Philmont) -

ABNAKI - Jacob Bussiere of Troop 109
CASCO BAY - Alex Lewis of Pack 36
DOWNEAST - Isak Potter of Pack 206
K-VALLEY - Jasper Balno-Scott of Troop 654
YORK - Robert Gonneville of Pack 310

The Top Sellers will also be invited to drop the puck at a Portland
Pirate's game this season as well should they attend a game.

And, the Council TOP SELLER for 2009 was Isak Potter of Pack 206!!  Isak has won a computer for his efforts in this year's sale!

CONGRATULATIONS to all of these Scouts, and congratulations to you all
for a great sale in 2009.

Please keep your eyes open for information to soon be released on the
Earn Your Way to Camp sale for this winter in order for your Scouts to
earn money for camp in 2009!

Thank you for helping our Scouting Family.

Sincerely,

Matthew Randall
