2. KLONDIKE.
“I would like to thank the Maine Maritime Museum for opening their doors to what ended up being 170 scouts and leaders at the 2010 Downeast Klondike Derby! What a great turnout!
Folks had a good time partaking in a wood bending demonstration, a scavenger hunt in the museum, an underway replenishment problem solving activity, piloting and plotting with nautical charts, and semaphore flag signaling. And, of course the great human sled race!
The following units earned the highest cumulative score in all events. Congratulations!”
1st 648 - Hawkeye Patrol
2rd 679 - Tiger Patrol
3rd 639 - Eagle Patrol

Klondike Derby 2010 Patch:
This year's Klondike Derby host, Troop 621 in Bath, had a contest for all troop members, inviting them to enter a patch design with an appropriate Klondike theme. The winning entry belonged to Star scout Shane Marshall, a member of the Beaver Patrol. Look carefully at your Klondike Derby 2010 patch. There are two "ghosts". One is hiding on a tent roof. The second within the campfire. Can you see the "ghosts"?
