Please don’t wait until October. Don’t miss an exciting edition‼‼! Keep your unit in touch with the Greater Scouting World.  Thank you.

Scout Fest: We have been asking and asking (here in Downeast District) how we could help at ScoutFest, October 8-10 2010 at the Windsor Fair Grounds. Here is what we have finally learned. Please contact Adam Corzatt, our District Executive: acorzatt@bsamail.org

“Some info and needs for Scoutfest!

Please touch base with your folks- both your assigned areas and Subcamp chiefs to see what they need and offer assistance.

Attached is the flyer and staff registration forms for distribution- they are on the web site- but feel free to pass on to your districts again.

Staffing options-

Full staff- working on the event- $20 p/p gets you staff patch, hat, t-shirt and food- MAKE sure you register yourself.

Volunteer staff- those coming with a unit that want to help out for a few hours- no cost other than unit registration fee- and they get a staff patch,

Vendors- no fee to register individually- no food or goodies other than a patch!

Staff NEEDED!

Need staff!  especially in Cub Scouting events!  Will also need help in registration.

Each district will need to come up with at least 10 more volunteers to help out with Cubbing.  Questions on this can go to Karen Douglass at kdouglas@augustaschools.org

Please let me know if you have questions- Looks like this will be really special as lots of new events are added!

Thanks,

ADAM CORZATT:

Adam is a native of the Pacific Northwest, having been born and raised in Portland, Oregon. For most of the past decade, he has been pursuing an education in music, earning a Bachelor of Music degree in Trombone Performance from the University of Oregon, and a Master of Arts degree in Music History from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Adam is a lifelong Scout, beginning as a Tiger Cub and continuing on to earn Eagle in December of 2000. A passion for Scouting led Adam to get his first job, at the age of 14, working as “Nature Boy” at the Cascade Pacific Council’s Camp Discovery. Later Scout camp adventures include one particularly memorable summer working at a cook and lead baker at Camp Meriwether on the Oregon Coast feeding 600 campers nightly, and frequent campfire programs portraying the life of Little Bunny Foo Foo. (He’s good-ed)  In his spare time, Adam has been known to partake of a variety of activities such as restoring an old Volkswagen Beetle, going on spur of the moment 50 mile bike rides, spending countless hours reading, building a model railroad layout, playing the banjo and bagpipes, and even listening to an occasional German polka band record (yes...those big vinyl things).

He’s a great guy and here to help us!  (-ed)
