2. RECHARTER NOTE FROM OUR DISTRICT COMMISSIONER.****

=93If you have not submitted you recharter package or made contact with Will
Bennett or Owen Maguire requesting help, your charter lapses today
(12/31/2011); time has run out. *Procrastination is no longer an option

When a unit's charter lapses the following happens: ****

- A unit cannot attend district or council events. ****
- A unit cannot continue meeting because they are no longer a unit. ****
- *They are no longer covered by Scouting insurance.* ****
- A Scout may not earn any advancements nor work towards earning those
advancements. ****
- The leaders & youth of a lapsed unit may not wear the uniform. The
uniform is only worn by those who are currently members in good standing.
****
- Advancement progress of their Life and Star Scouts in their goal to
reach Eagle may be delayed or even halted because the recharter paperwork
has not be completed.****
- The most glorious event in Cub Scouting, the PINE WOOD DERBY is not
going to happen because only registered Cub Scouts may participate in a
Derby.****
