3. PINEWOOD DERBY PATCH DESIGN.****

CALLING ALL CUB SCOUTS:****

Do you love the thrill of Pinewood Derby? Do you like to draw? If so, then
you should design this year's Pinewood Derby patch. The winning design will
be seen by over 250 other Cub Scouts and the patch will be the official
logo for this year's Downeast District Pinewood Derby. All entries should
be postmarked by no later than January 27, 2012 and should be mailed to:****

4. FUNDRAISER IN BRISTOL.****

*PLEASE SAVE THE DATE for the Hanna Family Benefit Dinner and Silent
Auction. Saturday, January 28, 5-7 pm @ Bristol Consolidated School -
Bristol, Maine.* (Sunday is snow date.) ****

Nancy Hanna was involved in a terrible car accident on Dec 13 and at this
date still remains in the hospital in Portland. Thankfully, Nancy is on
the road to recovery, but that road will be a long one. She has been a
very energetic and dedicated adult scout volunteer. Nancy has been
involved in Scouts now for eight years as a Pack 250 den leader all through
Cub Scouts with oldest son, Tommy, and then served Troop 228 as
Advancement Chair while husband Nathan served as Scoutmaster for a period
of time. She also was a member of the District Advancement Committee. Nancy
continues to serve as Wolf Den Leader in Pack #213 with her son Matthew.
All three Scout units will take part in the event. Dinner guests will enjoy
a spaghetti supper including salad, bread and dessert for a donation of
$7/adult, $4/children 8 and under, and $20/family value

Does your pack or troop or crew have experienced BSA uniforms which have
outgrown their usefulness or their owner has outgrown the size? Bring them
to Downeast District Roundtable on February 8. We have a Resource Table =96
Perhaps someonewill give them a new home! Thank you =96 ed.****
