1. YOUTH LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT CONFERENCE.****

Youth Leadership Development Conference Saturday, December 10th, 2011****

** **

(An invitation to high school students to participate in a one-day
conference on youth leadership) The very essence of leadership is that you
have to have vision. You can't blow an uncertain trumpet. ****

Purpose: The goal of this conference is to help students identify and,
perhaps,****

discover their own preferred style of leadership, enhance their
organizational skills and provide them with tools that will contribute to
their personal, academic, and professional success. The conference will
also emphasize the character and ethics of leadership. ****

Contents: This conference will focus on personal and group skills where
participants will have an opportunity to choose a total of 2 workshops from
the personal and 2 work shops from the skills sessions. This will be a
one-day conference that will run from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ****

Personal Skills****

The personal skills seminars will focus on 5 personal leadership themes:**

Time Management, Meeting Management, Communication, Decision****

Making and Goal Setting****

Group Skills****

The group skills seminars will focus on 3 group skills leadership themes:
Team Building, Effective Group Management and Managing Through Others****

Location: Pine Tree Council Service Center, 131 Johnson Road, Portland,
Maine****

*Application: Applicants may apply using the attached form. You may also

*Application Deadline: December 2nd. Applications must be received at
Pine Tree Council by December 2nd and will be processed on a first come
basis. The maximum number of participants is set at 60.*

Grade Requirement: Students must be attending high school or home schooled
at the high school grade level.****

Cost: The fee for this full day seminar will be $25.00 per participant The
Leadership Development Conference is a skills course specifically designed
to provide high school students with a chance to develop leadership skills
in a daylong, hands-on workshop. Recognition is the Leadership Development
Workshop Series Recognition Certificate. This should look good on your
high school resume!****

immediately. We will have orientation for Troop Leaders at the December
