1. LEGION SEEKS EAGLE SCOUTS.****
The American Legion, Department of Maine is seeking nominations for the
2012 Eagle Scout of the Year. The state winner will receive a $500
scholarship and is automatically entered in the national competition.****

Scouts applying must be an Eagle Scout, who will be at last 15 years of age
and enrolled in high school. Applicants must also be a registered, active
member of a Boy Scout Troop, Varsity Scout Team, or Venturing Crew,
chartered to an American Legion Post, Auxiliary Unit of SAL Squadron; or be
the son or grandson of a Legionnaire or Auxiliary member.****

Applications are available through The American Legion, PO Box 900,
Waterville, ME 04903-0900, by calling 207-873-3220 or on-line at
www.mainelegion.org. Applications must be received at Department
Headquarters by March 1, 2012. For further information, contact
Headquarters. The national winner receives a $10,000 scholarship. Three
second place scholarship awards of $2,500 are also awarded at the national
level.****

2. SCOUTING FOR FOOD =96 TELL US YOUR STORIES!****
Information from the Topsham-Brunswick Scout Units:****
=93Scouting for Food total is in =96 2000 lbs collected this year! The
following units participated in the Topsham Brunswick area: Pack 646, Troop
202, Troop 648, Pack 648. The Scouts did a great job collecting/sorting
the food helping others in their community. ****
Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program is very appreciative of our efforts.
This food will help many families through the holidays and winter into
2012. Big deserved thank you to all who participated in the very
