Where was your editor? ****

** **

Pack 646's spaghetti supper in Topsham last evening. Your editor is
mindful that other packs and troops in our district regularly hold
successful dinners, breakfasts, car washes, dog washes (?!), fruit sales,
Christmas tree sales. It just so happened that the stars and calendars
were aligned for the Beacon Editor to wander down Main Street and join Pack
646 for dinner.****

Thank you families, Cubs and leaders of Pack 646, chartered to the United
Baptist Church in Topsham, for a wonderful community dinner!****

2. SCOUTING FOR FOOD.****

=93Troop 213 and Pack 213 in the Damariscotta Area collected 2,100lb of food
during the scouting for food effort. The food will benefit the
Damariscotta Ecumenical Church Food Bank. All the Scouts and Cubs involved
did a great job! We also want to give a special thanks to Chris Roberts
and the Lincoln County News for helping in the effort by allowing us to use
their warehouse as a drop-off and sorting location. Regards; Charles Miller

3. WREATH LAYING OPPORTUNITY.****

*=93Saturday December 10 has been designated Wreath Laying Day for the Togus
V.A. The Legion Riders will be sponsoring the event, which is open to all
volunteers. Thought it would make a good community service project for
local Scout Troops. No start time is available yet. The Legion Riders do
not know when the wreaths will be arriving. Any interested Troops, Cub
Packs Girl Scout Troops, or Brownies can contact me , Zach White , for more
information, either at 207-832-7381or e-mail giszac@midcoast.com or, thru

The Beacon is a user friendly, pretty simple Downeast District information
e-newsletter, written to support leaders and families of Packs, Troops,
Ships, Crews and Explorer Posts. Our goal is to reach every registered
leader, committee member, and parent in each unit in Downeast District. So,
*ask folks in your unit to send their preferred email address to the Beacon
editor: beaconeditor@4am2pm.com*****
