Venture Leader of the Year Nominations for the Downeast District Recognition Dinner

Venture Crew Leaders,

my name is Devon Hubner, I am the Downeast District Activities and Civic Service Chairman.
Coming in May is the Downeast District Recognition Dinner.
At the District Recognition Dinner we recognize the best Scouters the Downeast District has to offer with Leader of the Year awards that include:
  • Den Leader of the Year
  • Webelos Den Leader of the Year
  • Assistant Leader of the Year
  • Cubmaster of the Year
  • Scoutmaster of the Year
  • Committee Chairman of the Year
  • Committee Member of the Year
  • Scouting Team
  • Business of the Year
  • Chartered Organization of the Year
  • Venturing Crew Leader of the Year

We also hand out the special District Award of Merit (http://usscouts.org/awards/distawardmerit.asp), which is the highest award a District can give. Only one District Award of Merit is given out every year, and it is awarded to a nominee that has rendered noteworthy service to youth in Scouting, outside of Scouting, or both.

As the prominent leadership in your Crew, you have front-line experience and knowledge of who the truly great Scouters are out there.
I humbly ask you to take some time and think about the leaders in your units, or leaders in other units that you know, who deserves to be recognized by the District for all that they do for Scouting.
